This Privacy Policy explains how PlaySport ("we", "our", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, and profile photo when you sign in (including via Google Sign-In).
- Profile & activity data: sports preferences, games and events you create or join, friend and follower connections, and messages you send within the app (group and one-to-one chat).
- Photos you choose to upload: profile pictures, post photos and game banners. We only access photos you select yourself; the app does not scan your gallery.
- Camera: used only when you scan a QR code to check in to a game. Images are not stored or sent to us.
- Location data: approximate or precise location, only to show nearby games and players, and only with your permission.
- Push notification token: a technical identifier from Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send you notifications such as friend requests, messages and game updates. You can turn notifications off in your phone settings.
- Device & usage data: basic technical information such as app version and device type, used for troubleshooting and improving the app.
How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To connect you with nearby games, groups, and players.
- To enable real-time chat, friend requests and notifications between users.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the app's functionality.
Advertising
PlaySport currently shows no advertisements and does not use the Android advertising ID. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy before any ads appear.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your profile information (such as name and photo) is visible to other users as part of the app's social features. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the app (such as our hosting provider, our image storage provider and Firebase for push notifications), under confidentiality obligations.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers and we take reasonable technical measures to protect it from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.
Your Choices
- You can edit or delete your profile information within the app.
- You can disable location access at any time from your device settings.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us below.
Children's Privacy
PlaySport is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
